Designer Skin Obsidian is the newest addition to Designer Skin's line of indoor tanning lotions. It is a 2011 lotion and has some very intense ingredients. Enriched 30X Long Wear Bronzing Matrix combines insane bronzing power with endurance enhancing potency to allow achievement of the darkest, richest tan possible. This item not only enables the deepest most luxurious glow but also ensures that it will be long lasting. SunStay is an agent which is responsible for creating hydration. This is key because of the intense damage UV exposure can do. Precious Volcanic Minerals are combined with Thermal-Geo Energy to give skin immediate rejuvenation. Skin goes from looking dry, rough, wrinkled and damaged from the rays to instantly vibrant, glowing and youthful. Obsidian Extract is yet another item implemented to provide anti-aging and promote youthfulness. It concentrates on providing minerals from the Obsidian Extract to smooth, soften and revitalize the skin. This indoor lotion has a Luxury which warms your body and puts your mind at ease. It makes you feel as if you are on a tropical island sprawled out in the sun just taking in the rays. This indoor lotion uses unparalleled bronzing formulas and super intense hydrating and anti-aging serums to reach max tanning potential. Designer Skin Obsidian comes in a mostly black and a tiny bit of cream plastic tear drop shaped bottle. "Obsidian" is written in bold bubble letter black font in the center. "Warm Volcanic Minerals, With Thermal Geo-Energy and Sun Stay Hydration" is written towards the bottom in smaller cream bold font. It has a plastic black base and a cap. The cap has ridges on it for better gripping and twists open and closed. The container screams seduction, darkness and desire. It has a Caribbean mist scent and comes in a 13.5 oz bottle. This is the best stuff ever! The smell of it is so amazing that I would honestly rather wear this lotion over any other perfume. The first time I tried it I could instantly see results. Two thumbs up! I would advise anyone to at least give this product a try for the scent alone!

Is this a tingle as well?

Obsidian does not contain any tingle ingredients, just bronzers

I did not pay $126 at all, more like $70.

Hey Jessica – sounds like your salon is reasonable and you got a decent deal. The full retail price is $126, and some salons do charge that much, but the smarter ones realize that is just way too much. Thanks for your feedback!

obsidian DOES contain tingle. It is a very warm lotion

It’s actually considered a “warming” or “blush” lotion, but it doesn’t specifically contain tingle ingredients.

Obsidian is great, but I feel like there is some confusion between “Tingle” lotion and “Warming” lotion.
This is NOT a tingle. Obsidian is a warming lotion that creates a warm sensation… like a warm bath or blanket right out of the dryer. Very relaxing. Not hot or painful or itchy like a tingle may be.

hello.
much appreciated and i LOVE this site!
so i’m pretty new to indoor tanning but i live on the beach, naturally have an olive skin tone and i tan really well. but getting older means less time to lay around outside so tanning bed it is. lol. i’ve never bought a bottle of indoor tanning lotion before and was torn between Obsidian Luminary and Phoenician. i decided on Obsidian and am very excited! i was just wondering if yall thought i made the right decision, or have any advice/suggestions when it comes to tanning lotions and what not

Hey Kristan!
Obsidian is a great lotion, actually all three that you mentioned are great. Obsidian is just a little different in that it contains some “warming” ingredients. Most people find this effect relaxing, and the lotion helps you get awesome color, but you may want to avoid applying it to your face until you see how the rest of your body reacts to it.
Not that anything bad will happen, but I’ve had a few people say they weren’t prepared for the sensation and it was a little much on their face for the first time.
Other than that you picked a good one!
